“A Gamified Trial for Eco-Aware Language Teaching: A Window into EcoLingua”

The session was held during the elective workshops segment of the event, which focused on innovative, differentiated, and sustainable practices in foreign language education.
Focus and Content
The workshop introduced participants to EcoLingua’s approach to integrating gamification principles into eco-critical language teaching.
Key discussion points included:
Application of gameful design elements (rules, goals, feedback structures) to language education,
Strategies for embedding climate change, biodiversity, and sustainability topics into English Language Teaching (ELT),
Use of ecological flipped classroom models to promote learner autonomy and critical thinking,
Alignment of EcoLingua’s educational outputs with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Participants engaged with sample activities and discussed how gamified content could enhance both language competences and global ecological awareness in classroom settings.
